About us

A strong team in the process of turning the fitness market on its head.

With eGym strength equipment now present in around 650 gyms in Germany and other European countries, and the eGym Trainer app used in over 750 gyms, eGym has claimed a significant share of the market in the space of just a few years. And we are still growing rapidly! eGym is increasingly expanding into other European countries outside Germany.

Behind this success story is our brilliant team: sports scientists, business studies specialists, IT developers and engineers at the companys offices in Munich and Berlin work on the shared goal of continuously improving our products. The team now consists of over 200 employees.

eGym is distinguished by its flat hierarchies and short decision-making channels. Each member of the team puts forwards new ideas, thus making a personal contribution to the companys success. Together, we do everything in our power to increase the success of our customers in all areas and to foster long-term partnerships.

Managing Director:

Philipp Roesch-Schlanderer | CEO

The inspiration for eGym came to Philipp in a tired gym at Columbia University in New York. Why, he wondered to himself, cant working out be more fun? And why arent we harnessing the potential of the Internet and smartphones to train more effectively? Back in Germany, he founded eGym at the end of 2010 together with his friend Florian Sauter, and since then has been consistently implementing the idea of using digitalisation to make gyms and their members more successful. Philipp studied business administration in Munich, Aarhus and New York, before going on to complete a post-graduate course in Technology Management at the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM).

Florian Sauter | CTO

Florian is the co-founder of eGym and in his role as CTO is responsible for technology, research and development. He studied at the TU M√ľnchen university and the UC Berkeley and holds a degree in electrical engineering and information technology. Florian built up his practical experience with companies including BMW, Bosch and Siemens. In his free time, he enjoys skiing and snowboarding.
